Bennie Duel, age 93, of Longwood, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at his residence. He was born in Kansas City MO on September 27, 1925, the son of the late William and Mollie Duel.

Following high school, Bennie enlisted in the US Army Air Force. He served in Europe as an Airplane and Engine Mechanic seeing action in France and Central Europe. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Service medal with one Bronze and one Silver Star for his service. He also received the Good Conduct Medal.

Following his wartime service he married the former Beverly Friedman and worked as a salesman selling materials handling equipment. The family relocated to the Orlando area from Miami in 2003. Beverly predeceased Bennie in 2017.

Bennie is survived by his daughters Susan (Jay) Steiner of Longwood and Debbie Duel (Ray Perez) of Silver Springs, MD. His grandchildren Zach, Josh, Sarah, Max, Natalie and Great Granddaughter Lucy

A funeral service with military honors will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
