David Philip Flax, age 87, of Maitland, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2020, at AdventHealth Winter Park. He was born on April 4, 1933, in Bayonne, New Jersey, to the late Samuel and Fanny Swirsky Flax. Following his graduation from college and service in the US Army, David joined the family art supply business. They grew the business, expanding it to several states. In 2000, David relocated to the Orlando area and in 2007, married the former Viviane Cohen, his wife of thirteen years who survives him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Anita Flax (Charles Moore), Laura Flax (Paul Cheney), Maria Flax (Robert Miller) and his son, Samuel Flax; and his older brother, Leonard Flax. He was predeceased by his other brother, Sidney Flax. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, a private family burial was held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery, Orlando, with Rabbi Mendy Bronstein of Chabad of Altamonte Springs officiating.
