Funeral services for Dr. Burton F. Tucker, age 92, who passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019, will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at 11:00 AM, graveside at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery, 6034 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando, with Rabbi Yosef Konikov of Chabad of South Orlando officiating.
Dr. Tucker, a native of Brooklyn, New York, was born on December 9, 1926, to the late Joseph L. Tucker and Frances Lipgar Tucker. Following his graduation from high school and entering the workforce, he enlisted in the US Navy, receiving the American Theater Medal, Victory Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Medal. After his time in Service, Dr. Tucker earned his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh and established a practice there.
On November 22, 1956, in Pittsburgh, he married the former Nanette Verk, his wife of nearly 63 years who survives him. They lived in Pittsburgh until 1995, when they relocated to Pembroke Pines and ultimately to the Orlando area in 2018.
In addition to his wife, Dr. Tucker is survived by his sons Dr. Lloyd Tucker of Mercer Island, WA and Jay (Halley) Tucker of Acton MA. He was also the proud grandfather of Aryel, Refael and Eliad. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Rene Briskin-Bryant (Jerry). Dr. Tucker was predeceased by his brothers Selwyn and Edwin and sisters Rosalie Gil and Doris Kraus.
