Submitted by the family George Henry Sutton, age 84, died on January17, 2021, in Altamonte Springs FL after a courageous battle with Interstitial Lung Disease.
George was born on August 23, 1936, in the borough of Bronx, New York to Charles and Mildred Sutton. Graduating high school at 16 years old, George worked in his family's grocery business until he was drafted in the US Army and later stationed at the Ft Sill Field Artillery base in Lawton OK. In 1959, George married his sweetheart, Pearl Snyderman. They resided in Long Island NY, later moved to Richmond VA and eventually moved to Orlando FL where he spent the last 35 years. George and Pearl were married for 37 years before Pearl succumbed to breast cancer. George remarried several years later to Marcia Hahn, and has spent the last 22 years happily married. George worked in Production Operations Management in the printing industry for the Massapequa Printing Press, the Richmond Times Dispatch and later, after moving to Orlando FL, ended his professional career at Pace Products, managing the production of educational learning tools.
George is survived by his second wife, Marcia Hahn; George and Pearl's three children, Deborah Sutton, Steven Sutton and Judith Salinas, their spouses Cathy Sutton and Chad Salinas; Marcia's three children Dr. Cathy Hahn, Dr. Maureen Hahn, and Eric Hahn; and George's six grandchildren, Blakeley, Logan and Payton Sutton and Parker, Sloan and Lawson Salinas.
Besides visiting his grandchildren in Atlanta GA, George enjoyed cooking and his local cooking club, and reading novels by W.E.B. Griffin, Daniel Silva and Tom Clancy. He also enjoyed landscape gardening, and cruising the world's oceans with Holland America. He was exuberant in his love of life.
A private family service will be held graveside on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Ohev Shalom Cemetery, Orlando, with Rabbi Arnold Siegel of Jewish Family Services officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations by made to the National Kidney Foundation.
