Mara Susan Millman-Cabagnot, of Babson Park, FL, passed on Saturday March 1, 2025, just shy of her 55th birthday. She was born March 27, 1970, in New York, New York, grew up in Kerhonkson, in upstate New York, attended Rondout Valley High School, and graduated in 1988 from Cooper City High School. She resided most of her life in Florida but never lost her New York accent.
Mara is survived by her loving partner of 30 years, Roque Cabagnot; her three children: Jae, Ryanna, and Misha; her fur-baby: Ellie; two sisters: Robin and Harriet; and brother: Buzzy; as well as numerous dear and close friends; and a plethora of well loved stuffies.
Mara was a beloved daughter of Max and Doris Millman (née Brody), whose memories she cherished every day since their passing.
As a younger woman, Mara was an active member of the South Florida Ren Faire and Rocky Horror communities, where she made many lifelong friends. And she later became a valued member of the online Gemstone and World of Warcraft groups she belonged to.
An avid fan of fantasy fiction and sci-fi, Mara was well-known online for her prolific writing and contributions to many fan communities, especially Harry Potter. A life-long learner, she studied everything from accounting, to paleontology, to Egyptology, and in her last year she was even learning Chinese to better enjoy her beloved Asian dramas. She loved to sit outside in the mornings with a cup of coffee, doing puzzles, tending to her garden, and playing video games. When she was able, she also worked as a crafter, and sold her pieces at various craft fairs and local markets over the years.
Mara was a woman as unique and varied as her interests.
Though Mara never had much to give, she was generous with everything she had, and was quick to help her friends, family, and even strangers, freely offering advice, her time, and sometimes shelter. She is dearly missed.
