Aaron Smargon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born on December 17, 1944, in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1983, Aaron like many northerners, decided to leave the snow behind for sunny Florida where he and the family planted roots in the central Florida area.

Aaron was a dedicated and loving family man. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 54 years, Donna Chenot-Smargon, his four children, Steve, Sheri, Jason, and Jeff, and his five grandchildren, Colin, Alex, Elijah, Nayli, and Luca, and step-grandchildren, Michael and Echo. He loved his Shihpoo, Dakota, and his three rescue kitties, Kadie, Peaches, aka Peach, and Little One. He leaves behind three sisters, Sandy, Roberta, and Norma of Massachusetts. After serving in the Army, he became a master electrician and spent many years perfecting his trade. Among his projects were Fenway Park in Massachusetts and Walt Disney World and Raymond James Stadium in Florida.

Aaron was known for his deep love of watching his favorite New England sports teams. He enjoyed spending time traveling with his wife, cherished the moments spent with his children and grandchildren, and he had a great love of food, even sneaking the occasional unapproved snack.

As an usher during religious holidays at Congregation of Reformed Judaism in Orlando, he and his wife followed their faith to guide their life with purpose.

Aaron’s sense of humor, generosity, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and a reminder of the importance of family and community.

A Celebration of Life for Aaron will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Congregation of Reform Judaism (928 Malone Drive, Orlando, FL) with Rabbi Rachael Jackson officiating. Inurnment will be Monday, August 26, 2024 at Sarasota National Cemetery (9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL) with honors by the United States Army. May he rest in peace and may his memory always be a blessing.
