May 22, 1938- December 26, 2023

Burt Friedman, 85 years young died peacefully Tuesday December 26, 2023. His death is preceded by his beloved wife and best friend Myra Friedman, and beloved son Donald Friedman; survived by his son Scott Friedman and his wife cherished daughter-n-law Niki Friedman, adored grandchildren Sara and Niko Friedman and nephews David and Marc Friedman.

Burt was born and raised in Chicago, to his late parents Hyman and Dorothy Friedman and brother (deceased) Sander. At 18 Burt joined the US Army, where he served 3 years. He loved to tell stories of how his sketching and artistic skills came in handy when his duty assignment was to design and sketch logos on army equipment. When returning home from the Army he married his beautiful wife of over 60 years (Myra) . They remained in Chicago area for over 40 years where they raised their sons Don and Scott and he worked his way up the ladder of corporate real estate. In the late 80s they migrated to Charlotte North Carolina, followed by over 20 years in Scottsdale Arizona, and most recently a suburb of Orlando.

Burt had a knack of making connections and lifelong friendships in every city they resided in. He was an amazing Dad always supportive of his kids and their life ambitions.

Burt prided himself on always keeping physically fit and was a serious competitor on the tennis court playing at a highly ranked level past his 85th Birthday. Playing Tennis alone wasn’t enough for him , he daily enjoyed his brisk 3 to 5 mile walks. He loved traveling the world with his wife and friends, not to mention enjoying a cigar and tumbler of Jack Daniels on the rocks. He had a quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and loved to poke fun at himself. He (Papa) adored his two grandchildren, Sara and Niko and moved to Florida to be closer to them and his family. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him. May his memory be a blessing.

Funeral Service was held in the Burton & Barbara Chasnov Pavilion at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi David Kay officiating. Interment followed in the family Estate at Ohev Shalom Cemetery.
