Dennis Lapin of Ocala, FL, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of more than 25 years of Arlene Lapin. Father of Jodie Wertheim, and her husband David, and Brian Lapin. Stepfather to Mitchell Ferstenfeld, and his wife Donna, and Evan Ferstenfeld, and his wife Melissa. Grandpop to Benjamin and Rose Wertheim, Steven Ferstenfeld and Charles Ferstenfeld. Dear brother to Mitchell Lapin and Bennett Lapin. Uncle to Joseph and Bianca Lapin, Jason Lapin, Hannah Lapin and Leah Lapin.
Dennis was born and raised in Philadelphia and remained a proud Philadelphian his entire life. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, including time in Germany, and remained a dedicated supporter of veterans. He worked as an industrial sales manager for companies around Philadelphia for much of his career. Dennis was happiest outside with a golf club or baseball bat in his hand or inside making his famous letter-shaped pancakes.
Dennis and Arlene moved to Florida to spend their retirement years doing what they love – golf, baseball, art, singing in the neighborhood choir, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with their beloved dog, Sunshine.
