With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Dennis Ross Wagner, devoted husband, loving father, and proud, blinded veteran, who left us on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, at 3:34 pm, age 84.
Born on June 28th, 1941, in Hampshire, IL, Dennis lived a life marked by dedication & deep love for his wife Linda & service to the military, Children of the World & Special Olympics. A veteran of the Army, he honorably served his country during the Vietnam War Era and as an honor guard member for President John F. Kennedy’s funeral. Throughout his life, he held tight to the service values of loyalty, courage, and integrity.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents & brothers & brothers-in-law. Dennis was a devoted husband to Linda Lou Wagner (Kroll) for 59 years. He was father to Tami Foster (her husband Steve, and their children Cameron, Sierra, and Landon [his wife Emily]), Tara Armstrong (her husband David and their children Nathaniel, Michael [his wife Evelyn, and son Grayson] and Jonathan) & Traci Galyon (her husband Don and their children Mikayla, Caleb [his wife Leslie & their daughter Elizabeth], and Mason). He is also survived by his sister Maryann Meyer & family, his sister-in-law Barbara Smith (her husband Don and family), and many additional nieces & nephews & all others he called family. His sense of humor, generosity, and love of adventure and science made him a beloved figure to all who knew him, and he will be missed dearly by all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
A service to honor Dennis will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Monday, January 27th, 2025, at 9:30 am, followed by a memorial service on February 17th at 6 pm at The Hebrew College at Citrus Tower in Clermont, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children of the World, Special Olympics, or the Blinded Veterans Association.
Dennis will forever be remembered for his unwavering love for his wife, Linda, his commitment to service, and the legacy he leaves behind.
