Jerry Tannenbaum, 87, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, loyalty, and friendship.
Born in New York, Jerry grew up a proud Barnes boy, forming bonds with friends from the Bronx that would last his entire life. One summer at Cutlers Cottages, the year before she turned sixteen, he met the love of his life, Lois. That meeting began a partnership that would span more than six decades, until her passing.
Jerry later moved his young family to Orlando, where he lived for the next 50 years. There he built not only a career as a respected construction engineer, but also another circle of deep and lasting friendships.
While he worked hard and valued responsibility, nothing meant more to Jerry than his family. He was a devoted husband to Lois and a proud father to his children, Elyse and Arnie & Bevie. In 1971, he gave them one of the great adventures of their lives—a six-month trip around the world that became a cherished family memory and a reflection of his generosity and spirit.
Jerry is survived by his children, Elyse and Arnie & Bevie; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Alex and Jessica, Jordan and Camille, and Courtney; and his great-grandchildren, Aiden and Matilda.
Jerry will be remembered for his dedication to the people he loved, the friendships he kept close from boyhood through his final years, and the steady, caring presence he brought to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Graveside Service for Jerry will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 13, 2026 at Temple Israel Cemetery (9302 Morton Jones Road, Gotha, Florida) with Rabbi David Kay officiating. May he rest in peace and may his memory always be a blessing.
Family request donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to Friends of the IDF.
