Martin "Marty" Garber, our beloved father, Papa and great-grandfather, a truly remarkable human being.
Born on March 20 1927, he lived through the great depression and was a WW2 & Korean War Navy Veteran on the USS Copahee. Originally from Chicago, IL, where he met his wife, Toby (Wechsler) Garber (1930-2002) of blessed memory, they took the journey to move to Miami, Florida in the 1950s. From there, they started a life together- Marty gave the best childhood a child could ask for. He spent his entire life being a gentleman and loving husband to Toby as well as a dedicated, involved and loving father. From fishing trips to dance recitals to football & soccer games, he was there for it all. Not many can say they witnessed all their children succeed and grow into their 50s and 60s. He was an outdoors man, an artist and a fencer- there was not much this man could not do. As the family man he was, he made sure his children learned and experienced all life has to offer- inclusive of camping and fishing, needless to say, Marty Garber was a legend and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Mr. Garber is survived by his loving and devoted children; Kayla (Jim Duba) Garber Duba of Winter Park, Florida, Lamont (Lynda) Garber of Winter Park, Florida and Wayne (Gayle) Garber of Boca Raton, Florida and his beloved grandchildren; Aaron (Kerry) Duba, Brice (Laura) Duba, Alexis (Ron) Krudo, Derek Garber, Jake (Becca) Garber, Shayna (Daniel) Garber Fenters, Rachel Garber and Mallory Garber; great-grandchildren; Eli, Juniper, Grady, Ashtin, Peyton and Bennett.
