Morey Raiskin passed peacefully in his Clermont, Florida home on July 4, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 3, 1957, he was the loving husband of his wife Michelle. He was preceded in death by his former wife Maribeth and was a devoted father to their children: son Marshall, daughter-in-law Mikala, and son Evan. He also leaves his sister Karen Raiskin-Horenstein, nephew Joshua Horenstein, his wife Paula Zimmerman and their children Marcus and Miles. Morey’s love extended to include his six step-children and their spouses: Zachary and Amber, Tucker and Alexis, Tanner and Maya, McKenna, Cole and Addison Foster.
Morey was a graduate of Tulane University and Tulane Law School. He enjoyed a career of over 40 years practicing labor and employment law. He was counsel at SeaWorld Orlando, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, as well as partner at Burr-Forman and shareholder at Zimmerman-Kiser and Suttcliff.
He retired from the law firm of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed in August of 2022 where he spent the majority of his career. Morey found great joy in the friendships cultivated over the years of life in Orlando.
Funeral Services for Mr. Raiskin will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Congregation Ohev Shalom (613 Concourse Parkway, Maitland, FL) with Rabbi Arnold Siegel of Jewish Family Services officiating. Interment will follow the service at Palm Cemetery in Winter Park, FL. May he rest in peace and may his memory always be a blessing.
Shiva Minyan will be held Saturday, Sunday from 2;00 - 4:00 PM and Monday 6:00 - 8:00 PM at his Clermont, Florida home.
