Robert "Bob" Paul Kahn, 78, was born in 1945 in Orlando, Florida, to teacher and dietician Tybell Kahn, and jeweler and artist Wolf Kahn. Bob graduated from Edgewater High School (Class of '63) and then attended Baylor University. After graduating, he started working for MGM Studios and then began his entrepreneurial journey that continued for over 50 years.
Bob was a successful business owner of Truck Brokers Inc, which was a transportation logistics company for the movie industry. He received an Emmy in 1991, for casting in the film Separate But Equal.
In the year 2000, Bob met Flory and he found his true love. They married in 2006. As patrons of the arts, Bob and Flory collected Florida Highwaymen paintings, and then donated their entire collection to the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture, in memory of his parents. Bob was most proud of his connections to family. He was a devoted husband, adventurer, foodie, jokester, and friend.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Tybe and Wolf Kahn, and his sister Barbara Brady. He is survived by his wife Flory Kahn, his brother Bernie Kahn, his children Genie Beasley and Matt Kahn, his stepchildren Jeff Laub, Robyn Laub, and Evan Laub, his grandchildren Eli and Ethan Beasley, Ella and Ben Colley, and Ryan and Andrew Laub.
Funeral Services for Bob will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 1:30 PM in the Burton & Barbara Chasnov Pavilion at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery (6034 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando) with Rabbi Geoffrey Spector of Congregation Ohev Shalom officiating. May he rest in peace and may his memory always be a blessing.
