Beatrice Travitsky September 17, 1940- May 24, 2024
Beatrice Susan Travitsky, age 83 died peacefully with her children by her side on May 24, 2024 under the care of Advent Health Hospice. Bea was born September 17, 1940 in Queens, New York and was the daughter to Fay and Adolf (Ricky) Weinberger.
Bea spent her childhood in Jackson Heights, New York. She graduated from Newtown High School in Queens at the top of her class. Bea worked in the Garment District in NYC and met Larry Travitsky through friends while he was still in the army. Bea and Larry married in 1962 and went on to have four children. The family moved to Orlando area in 1977 to follow family and make a new life. Grandparents and additional family followed thereafter. While living in Altamonte Springs, Bea was proud of her job at a pediatricians office for many years, as well as a secretary, at the JCC in Maitland.
Bea was a fabulous homemaker. She loved to cook, entertain, and made certain that all the Jewish Holidays were celebrated with our close family. She enjoyed playing Maj Jong, sewing, she was an avid bowler, and was active in ORT. The family was very active at Congregation Reform Judaism, where she was president of Sisterhood and WRJ.
Bea is survived by her four loving children, Robin Goebel (John) of Lumberton, TX, Debra House (David) of Winte928r Park, Amy Cassell (Lance) of Sarasota, and Evan Travitsky (Mauricio Diaz) of Las Vegas, NV. Bea is survived by her 6 grandchildren, who she was very proud of. Surviving grandkids include, Allison Sanders, Jared Goebel (Carley), Alex House (Brittany), Austin House (Gabbie), and Alayna and Ari Cassell. She also loved her 4 beautiful great grandchildren, Lilly, Landry, Oaklynn, and Walker, and a new baby girl on the way.
May her memory live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Graveside Service for Mrs. Travitsky will be held Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Congregation of Reform Judaism Cemetery (9300 Morton Jones Road, Gotha, FL) with Rabbi Rachael Jackson of Congregation of Reform Judaism officiating.
