With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Esther Wolman, our beloved 91-year-old matriarch. Esther passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Village On the Green in Longwood, FL. She passed peacefully with her loving family by her side.
Esther was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 21, 1934. She moved with her husband, Samuel Wolman, from Philadelphia to Orlando in 1957 where they raised their four children. They were founding members of the Congregation of Reform Judaism.
A dedicated mother, life-long volunteer and businesswoman, Esther excelled in her sales positions with Jordan Marsh, Burdines and Macy's. Her excellence in customer service translated perfectly to her time spent volunteering at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center, the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, the CRJ’s Sisterhood Gift Shop and Chavurah. She also traveled with Road Scholar and spent her free time socializing with family and friends.
She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and wit. Her memory will be a blessing to all who survive her - her loving children Barbara Moore (Jeffrey in memoriam), Marlyn Patouillet (Jay), Miriam Newman (Scott) and Mark Wolman (Karen); her six grandchildren, Jarron Moore (Karla), Jamie Powell (Jason), Matthew Newman (Kroopa), Rachel Newman (Stephen), Allyson Wolman and Mia Wolman; and her six great grandchildren, Kylie Moore, Jayden Moore, Julia Powell, Jackson Powell, Aviva Newman and Eliana Newman.
Graveside service for Esther will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Congregation of Reform Judaism Cemetery (9200 Morton Jones Road, Gotha, FL) with Rabbi Rachael Jackson of Congregation of Reform Judaism officiating.
May Esther rest in peace and her memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
