Jody Bergman, 71, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. She was born on May 8, 1954, to Jack and Muriel (Jaffrey) Bergman.
Jody was known for her kindness, generosity, and the care she showed to everyone around her. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and over the years shared her home and heart with many beloved companions including Yahma, Remy, Dakoda, Keisha, Sequoia, and Savannah.
She had a natural gift for connecting with people and seemed to make friends wherever she went. Her warmth and friendliness left a lasting impression on the many people she encountered throughout her life.
Jody devoted many years to raising her son and took great pride in being a mother. She later became a business owner, operating the children’s hair salon Kidz Cuts, and generously volunteered her time to support charitable causes and help others.
Family meant everything to Jody. She valued strong connections with loved ones and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren in later years.
Jody is survived by her son, Justin Schwartz; daughter-in-law, Rachel Schwartz; and grandchildren, Dylan and Aidan Schwartz.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marcy Durham, whom she missed dearly, and her parents, Jack and Muriel (Jaffrey) Bergman.
Jody will be remembered for her generosity, compassion, and the many friendships she built throughout her life. Her love for family, friends, and animals left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Funeral Service for Jody will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 10, 2026 in the Barbara & Burton Chasnov Pavilion at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery (6034 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando) with Rabbi David Kay officiating. May she rest in peace and may her memory always be a blessing.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations may be made in her memory to the ASPCA.
