Nancy Gail Schwartz 05/24/1953 – 01/31/2026
Nancy Gail Schwartz, 72, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Winter Park, Florida. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a truly beautiful soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.
Born on May 24, 1953, in New York, New York, Nancy was the daughter of the late Sam Schechter and Helen “Cookie” Small. She grew up in Fresh Meadows, Queens, where she developed the warm, light-hearted spirit and wonderful sense of humor for which she was known.
Nancy met the love of her life, Larry Schwartz, through a blind date set up by her sister Barbara, who was married to Jack, one of Larry’s bowling buddies. Nancy and Larry were married for 41 years and built a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to family. Over the years, they built their life together in New Rochelle, New York; Coral Springs, Florida; and finally Winter Park, Florida.
Earlier in her life, Nancy worked in the television industry, but once she became a mother, she chose to focus her heart and energy on being home with her children so she could watch them grow. Family was always at the center of Nancy’s world. She was endlessly caring, never had a bad word to say about anyone, and carried only love in her heart. She was always up for a good game of mah jong and was known for her warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Larry; her loving children, Jackie (Dan) and Jonathan (Jaime); her cherished grandchildren, Charley and Parker; and her sister, Barbara (Jack). She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. In the Burton & Barbara Chasnov Pavilion at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery (6034 Old Winter Garden Rd., Orlando, FL 32835), with Rabbi Bradd Boxman of Congregation Kol Tikvah officiating.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family requests that donations in Nancy’s memory be made to Moffitt Cancer Center (moffitt.org/give), where Nancy received many treatments over the years.
Zikhronah livrakhah. May her memory be a blessing, and may her kindness and love continue to live on in all who knew her.
