Tanhum Goldshmid, age 79, of Orlando, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2021, at The Commons at Orlando Senior Health. Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, he was the son of the late Abraham Abba and Deborah Katzev Goldshmid. He earned is bachelor's degree from Bar Ilan University; his master's from Washington State University and his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. Dr. Goldshmid worked as a Civil Engineer for the government. On December 13, 1966, in Israel, he married the former Ingrid Gottlieb, his wife of 66 years who survives him. They settled in Vero Beach before relocating to the Orlando area in 2017, to be closer to their son. Dr.Goldshmid is survived by his wife, Ingrid, of Orlando; his son Eyal (Deborah Moskowitz) Goldshmid of Orlando; and his daughter Galit Goldshmid and granddaughter Avital Dawson of the United Kingdom. He is also survived by his sisters Rivka Yanai and Dorit Gottfriedt of Israel. In memory of Tanhum Goldshmid, the family requests memorial contributions to the Jewish National Fund (jnf.org). Due to the pandemic, a private family service was held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Arnold Siegel of Jewish Family Services officiating.
