Walter Halperin, age 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at his residence. Dr. Halperin was born in New York City on December 10, 1924, son of the late Sam and Luba Ariev Halperin. He was a graduate of Long Island University and received his dental degree from New York University. Dr. Halperin served in the US Army. He married the former Marcia Grossman in New York on December 25, 1956. They lived in New York and relocated to the Orlando area in 2013. In addition to his wife, Dr. Halperin is survived by his sons Larry (Susan) Halperin of Altamonte Springs and Alan (Wendy) Halperin of New York; and his daughter Shelley (Fred) Rudin of New York. He was the grandfather of Laurie Rudin, Brian (Sheena) Rudin, Allyson Halperin (Farrar Hudkins), Daniel Halperin, Samantha (Aaron) Mandel, Noah, Emily, Oscar and Isaac; and great-grandfather of Benjamin Rudin. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, a private family graveside service was held at Congregation of Reform Judaism Cemetery, with Rabbi Steven W. Engel officiating.
