Alan Philip Rosen, age 72, of Clermont, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. He was born in Bronx, New York, to the late Herman and Edna Hyman Rosen on August 5, 1948. Mr. Rosen was a high school graduate and served in the United States Army. He was a diesel mechanic for the New York City Transit Authority. He and his wife, the former Ellen Sherman, who survives him, were married on March 18, 1969 in Switzerland and, again, the following day, in Germany. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2019, by renewing their vows at Congregation Sinai, Clermont, where they are members. They were winter residents of Clermont since 1992, permanently relocating in 2016.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Rosen is survived by his son Randall (Nichole) Rosen of Marlboro NY and his daughter Samantha (Steven) Englander of Milton NY. He was the proud grandfather of Melissa Maneely, Ireta (Franklin) Hunter, Mason Rosen, Aria Rosen and Logan Maneely; and had the special privilege of being great-grandfather to Aliana DuBose, James Hunter and Michael Hunter. Mr. Rosen is further survived by his brothers Larry (Phyllis) Rosen and Jerry (Elaine) Rosen and sisters Deborah (Fred) Stein, Roberta Nahoum, Beverly Katowitz and Marilyn (Robert) Greenbaum. Alan was predeceased by his brother, Clifford Rosen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Congregation Sinai in Clermont. In memory of Alan Philip Rosen, the family requests contributions to Congregation Sinai.
