It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bob Faber at the age of 80, following a long-fought battle with cancer.
Bob was a loving husband to Pat, a devoted father to Lisa and Ben, and a cherished grandfather to Reeve and Frances. He found immense joy in his family, always sharing his love and wisdom.
Bob attended undergraduate school at the University of Florida and went on to attend two years of medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico. Upon completion, he transferred to the University of Miami, where he completed his Internal Medicine rotation in 1975. Bob moved to Orlando where he set up his Internal Medicine Practice until his retirement in 2018.
While running his medical practice, Bob was actively involved with the Emergency Medical Services in Orange County, including as a mentor to the original Paramedic Class where he wrote the original Protocols, which still include his signature today. He also worked with the Orlando Fire Department acting as Medical Advisor. In addition, Bob was also the doctor on call for numerous music performers who came to Orlando to perform at the many venues within the city. He was known as the “Doc of Rock”. Bob practiced medicine with a unique; personal ‘hands on’ approach, the way medicine used to be provided. He loved his patients, and they knew it!
Bob will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire and guide us.
Funeral Service Dr. Faber will be held at Monday, November 11, 2024, 1:00 PM at Burton & Barbara Chasnov Pavilion at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery (6034 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando, FL) with Rabbi Arnold Siegel of Jewish Family Services officiating. Family request memorial donations may be made in his name to The American Cancer Society.
Rest in peace, Bob. You will be deeply missed but your spirit will live on in our hearts.
Service entrusted Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 933 Lee Road, Suite 101, Orlando, Florida 407-599-1180.
