On our first date when I went to the rest room, she covered my eggs so they would not get cold. This small act of kindness and thoughtfulness exemplified who she was to all who knew her. Ever caring for friends and family, she was a wonderful wife, mother to Dan, Stacy and Josh, and their spouses Andrea, Wayne and Jean. Grandmother to Mad, Gabby, Zac, Olivia, Tessa. Ben, Sophia, Lily and Madaline. She loved them all unconditionally, with a vigor that's hard to believe...
She was born on July 13, 1942. For the first ten years of her life, she lived in the Bronx. We used to kid her that you can take the girl out of the Bronx, but not the Bronx out of the girl. She then moved to White Stone. She still has friends from those early childhood days.
Linda went to Queens College, her Master's at Hofstra University. She became a Middle School Special Ed teacher. She loved teaching tough kids and they loved her. It never surprised if you saw her with teenagers hanging from both arms. If someone forgot or did not have lunch money there was Linda as "no child should go hungry". She did not see color or creed; she just loved them all.
We lived in Taiwan where at first, she taught at the American School, then at the Dominican School. She adored Taiwan and the Taiwanese people. She only wished we could have stayed longer.
Linda was always observed to have a book in her hand. Loved to travel and took great pride in having visited every continent except Antarctica, and preferred Hershey chocolate over all others. Her smile and laughter were brighter than the gold and diamond jewelry she wore and enjoyed.
She was the reason for all of our family success. Always encouraging; projecting in so many ways "a you can do it attitude". When I went into business she said "don't worry, I can always pay the mortgage on my teacher's salary... You can do it! We will get by."
She made everyone whole life she touched a little bit happier; a little bit more fulfilling. She gave me the best 57 years ever. With love...
