Howard Pinsky, 82, of Orlando, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. Born in Chicago on July 27, 1943, Howard was a man who could never resist a puzzle—whether it was a stubborn gadget, a block of wood waiting to be shaped, or the mysteries of the universe itself.
A true “jack of all trades,” Howard lived by the Boy Scout motto of always prepared. His natural curiosity fueled a lifetime of learning and tinkering. He found joy in robotics, electronics, woodturning, astronomy, and collecting rocks and gems. If something could be taken apart and understood, Howard would figure out how it worked—and probably improve it in the process. His workshop, filled with tools, stood as both a treasure chest and a testament to his inquisitive spirit.
Howard graduated with a Master’s degree in Physics from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1970 and went on to spend 37 years as an Aerospace Engineer at Lockheed Martin. His career was marked by innovation, precision, and a love for solving complex problems, the very qualities that defined his approach to life.
Beyond his accomplishments, Howard’s greatest joy was his family. He shared 54 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lorraine (‘Cookie’), a partnership rooted in unwavering support. He is also survived by his sister Roslyn Lurie, his children Marc Pinsky (Suzanne) and Karen Draper (Dan), and his grandchildren Hannah and Kyle. Howard’s life was one of exploration—of ideas, of the natural world, and of the hearts of those he loved. His family and friends will remember him for his ingenuity, his wit, and his fascination with the world around him.
