Pearl C. Metz of Maitland passed away on March 21, 2026. She was 94 years old almost 95. Pearl was born in New York City on April 22, 1931 to the late Sol and Eva (Lindenberg) Cohen of blessed memory. She graduated from Hunter High School and Hunter College in New York City with a degree in art education. After graduation she worked as a middle school art teacher. Pearl moved to the Orlando area in 1960 from New York with loving husband of 59 years William Metz of blessed memory. She is predeceased by her brother Simon Cohen of blessed memory.
Pearl loved to travel, especially by cruise ship. She enjoyed playing the piano, needlework, and most recently crocheting gifts for her great granddaughter. Pearl was a member of the Congregation of Reform Judaism. She was a past Sisterhood officer and served on the National Council of Jewish Women.
She is survived by her devoted children; son Richard (Julie) of Carmel Indiana, daughters Carolyn Rosenblum of Ocoee, Florida and Joanne Metz of Casselberry, cherished grandchildren; Alexander Metz, Jordan (Colleen) Metz, Samuel Rosenblum and Benjamin (Jordan Erisman) Rosenblum and her great-granddaughter, Eleanor Mae Rosenblum.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Congregation of Reform Judaism (928 Malone Drive, Orlando, FL) with Rabbi Rachael Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Congregation of Reform Judaism cemetery, Gotha, FL. In honor of Pearl please wear something bright, she especially liked purple. May she rest in peace and may her memory always be a blessing.
